At Grayson Home Health, we are known for going the proverbial extra mile for our patients. In the
case of our Physicians & Assistants at Home (PAAH) program, we extend the benefits of home
health care to include valuable assessments and diagnostic evaluations performed by a certified
nurse practitioner.
The practical aspects of additional care save time and money. Decreased hospitalizations,
prevention of unnecessary trips to the emergency room, less time spent waiting in doctors’ offices,
and the convenience of having needed tests performed at home are of great benefit to patients.
Perhaps even more importantly, the service offers peace of mind during times when the patient may
be feeling vulnerable and afraid. And, depending on the severity and longevity of the illness, the
nurse practitioner serves as an important liaison, keeping your loved one home longer, living more
independently than would otherwise be possible.
A nurse practitioner is a registered nurse who has successfully completed additional educational
requirements (a minimum of a master’s degree) and has received training in diagnosing and
managing common medical conditions. They work closely with your loved one’s physician and other
members of Grayson Home Health’s care team.
Grayson Home Health’s nurse practitioners are qualified to offer treatment options and procedures,
diagnose and treat acute illnesses, infections and injuries, obtain medical histories and conduct
physical exams, monitor disease, order and interpret diagnostic testing, and prescribe medications
and physical therapies.
In addition to our extensive nursing services, the Physicians & Assistants at Home Program offers a variety of support and personal care services available on a private pay basis. Patients recuperating from surgery or those desiring additional assistance would find the concierge options of great benefit.
